Vlkolinec - UNESCO site - is the mountainous village where historical traditions, houses, habits and craftwork are well preserved until now. The number of inhabitants in Vlkolinec today is not more than twenty. Vlkolinec is a picturesque village because it is one of ten Slovak villages which has been granted a status of a folk architecture reservation - because the village is untouched and has preserved historical monuments from 15th century.
The wooden articled Evangelical church Svaty Kriz is one of the largest wooden churches in the Central Europe and Slovakia which was moved here from Paludza village between 1974 and 1982. The ground plan of the Svaty Kriz church is in the shape of a 43 meter-long cross. The church takes almost 6,000 persons.
